The prompt for the open response is as follows, “Briefly describe your academic goals and why you would make an excellent candidate to participate in the ACT Prep Camp at Arkansas State University.” We highly consider the open response portion when reviewing applications, as it allows us to get to know the student a bit more. Students should fill out the application in its entirety. How are students selected for the ACT Academy? It is helpful if a student has had some exposure to the test prior to attending the program. It is possible for students that have not taken the ACT before to be accepted into the camp. Yes, we do prefer the student to have previously taken the ACT in order to get accepted. Unlike other universities, this opportunity is being offered free of charge for participants. This camp is scheduled to take place in the second week of July every year. You’ll get assistance to work on your test-taking skills, learn about the many exciting opportunities that Arkansas State University offers, stay in a residence hall and experience campus life. We’ll help you tackle the ACT and answer your questions about college admissions, academics and campus life.
